Croxteth Hall and Country Park has won a top Tourism Award for the sixth year running.
The stunning Green Flag Award winning site in Liverpool was praised for its high standards after a secret mystery visitor inspected the 500-acre attraction. The inspector praised the welcome from staff to the cleanliness of the toilets, car park and café facilities.
The annual awards are run by the English Tourist Board who judge tourist attractions across the country from a visitor’s viewpoint.
The city council’s executive member for the environment, Councillor Berni Turner said: “This is a fantastic achievement for one of our city’s best attractions. It is such a high accolade, though it is no surprise they have won it for the six years on the run.
“I am sure this award will once again increase visitor numbers for the Hall and Country Park, in our city’s special Capital of Culture year.”
It’s a double win for Croxteth as it has also been shortlisted for the Mersey Partnership 2008 Tourism Awards in the Larger Attraction Category.
Winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony on 28 May after judges have visited all the shortlisted attractions.

Croxteth estate has four main attractions, the Historic Hall, Croxteth Home Farm, a Victorian Walled Garden and a 500 acre country park, including the Croxteth Local Nature Reserve
