A host of children enjoyed egg-tremely good fun at Samphire Hoe during the Easter break.

The children brought along decorated eggs and prizes were given for the best three. They then took part in an egg and spoon obstacle race and enjoyed an egg rolling event down by the sea wall.  Paul Holt from the White Cliffs Countryside Project, which organised the event, said: “The children had done some really imaginative decorations from ones which looked like baby birds, to wonderful coloured patterns, and people with funny faces. We also set up an egg and spoon challenge where the children had to walk along balancing their eggs whilst weaving in and out of canes, then rolling the eggs through tubes and passing them through hoops.  Later on we went down onto the sea wall and had an egg rolling competition.” 49 people came along to the event and despite the cold conditions and a blizzard half way through the event, everyone enjoyed themselves.

Events at Samphire Hoe are advertised in the Green Gang newsletter which goes to all primary school children in the Dover and Folkestone area.
