ham Hill is the perfect place for a picnic

Green Flag Award winning Ham Hill Country Park in Somerset has been named as a regional winner in Warburtons Picnic Awards 2008 winning a place in the national final to battle it out against nine other favourite picnic sites from around the UK.

To celebrate Warburtons National Bread Week, the family bakery business encouraged the public to go online to http://www.welovebread.co.uk and pledge their support for their favourite regional picnic spot.

Ham Hill fought off stiff competition from other sites across the region and the site is now battling to represent the South West in the national final and win the prestigious title of Warburtons Best Picnic Spot 2008.

Countryside ranger Jon Marshman said: “We’re absolutely delighted to hear that Ham Hill has been selected as a regional winner.

“Ham Hill is loved locally by many people for its unique and exciting landscape, its panoramic views and as a popular place for picnics and walks for people of all ages. We will be putting the money directly into improving the existing picnic facilities to ensure that people of all abilities can enjoy picnics at Ham Hill.”

To vote for Ham Hill Country Park in the final round, and to be in with a chance of winning a family picnic in Central Park, New York, log onto: http://www.welovebread.co.uk

The closing date to vote is Friday, June 27, and the overall winner will be announced in the week starting July 14.
