The Civic TrustA new Events Manager has been appointed to the Civic Trust to co-ordinate an exciting programme of events throughout the year.
Jane Wardle has taken on the vital role of managing the Green Flag Award ceremony, Civic Trust Awards and Heritage Open Days and will be based at the Trust’s offices in Liverpool.
The number of spaces flying the coveted Green Flag again looks set to rise this year and Jane will be co-ordinating the major awards ceremony on August 3rd when winners will be informed of their success in the scheme. She will also be helping to co-ordinate Heritage Open Days 2006 between Thursday 7 and Sunday 10 September, offering people the fantastic opportunity to discover and enjoy the architecture, history and culture which exists on their doorsteps - more than 3,000 properties opening up to the public last year.
Jane said: “It is an honour to be involved in the management of these exciting events which celebrate the wealth of quality green spaces, heritage and architecture to be found in the UK today. I am looking forward to being a part of the Civic Trust - such a positive force in urban regeneration - and meeting the many fantastic volunteers who make these events possible.”
The trust’s Marketing Manager Caroline Williams commented: “Jane brings a wealth of experience to the Civic Trust at a time when we are expanding our events programme. Both the Green Flag and Civic Trust Awards have grown into major events, and the popular Heritage Open Days now involve more than 3,000 properties which are open to the public. On behalf of everyone at the Trust I would like to welcome Jane to the team.”
Jane joins the Civic Trust from her role as Technical Events Co-ordinator at Merseysound Productions & Staging, an audio visual company in Liverpool.
