Green Flag Award

Shake off those winter blues and take to the great outdoors this Easter where a host of exciting events will be taking place at Green Flag Award winning parks and green spaces across the country. But first log onto http://www.greenflagaward.org.uk the website devoted to the nation's best green spaces.

The Green Flag Award scheme’s What’s On guide showcases events and activities at some of the 322 Green Flag Award parks and green spaces across England and Wales. These quality sites, all freely accessible to the public, offer a wealth of activities to keep the youngsters amused during the Easter holidays this April.

Win a prize on an Easter trail with a difference at Bellevue Park in
Wrexham on 13th or enjoy the fun of the fair at Lister Park in Bradford between 14th and 18th.  Take part in the whacky races at Victoria Park in Trafford on 15th, experience a day of ‘Spring Eggcitement’ at Forty Hall Country Park in Enfield on 16th or treat your children to many educational and fun activities between 19th and 21st at Bicclescombe Park on the outskirts of Ilfracombe.

All these events and more are planned for the Easter holidays - and there is no easier way to find your nearest award-winning park than with our dedicated website.

The Green Flag Award scheme is the national standard for parks and green spaces. It recognises the value of green spaces to communities, particularly in urban areas, and rewards good standards of green space management and maintenance.

Caroline Williams, Green Flag Award Marketing Manager, commented: “Children need fresh air and exercise, especially after being cooped up for much of the winter, and with the Easter holidays fast approaching, there is no better time to visit your local Green Flag Award park or green space.

“Our website’s What’s On Guide means people can find up-to-the-minute information about a wide variety of Easter events at these top quality green spaces which are freely accessible to all. There is something for everyone, so visit http://www.greenflagaward.org.uk and see for yourself.”
