The Civic TrustCommunity and voluntary green space groups are reminded to enter their green space for a community Green Pennant Award before the 2008/09 round closes on January 31.
The Green Pennant Award is for local green spaces of any size managed by voluntary and community groups. It is going from strength to strength since its humble beginnings in 2002 when just 11 sites received an award. There are now 77 sites which boast a Green Pennant Award.
Civic Trust Applications Manager Paul Todd, said: “This is a fantastic way of recognising the hard work and dedication of those people who give so much to their local communities in providing these pockets of quality green space which hugely benefit the surrounding community. Gaining an award is an excellent way to generate interest in a park or green space, bringing publicity and wide recognition at a local and national level.”
All applications are online so applicants just need login details to enter. To apply for an award, email: or contact the Green Flag Award team on: 0151 231 6900.
