Crowds enjoy the atmosphere at last year's successful event

Green Flag Award-winning Queen Elizabeth Country Park will be rocking once more this September after last year's successful Glastonbury style event and young people are being invited to have their say in what goes on at this year's music bash.

Butserfest 2008, organised by East Hampshire District Council, will take place on Saturday, 13 September and the survey will let young people vote for their favourite headliners and local bands as well as suggest their own ideas for activities they want on the day. Last year, there were all sorts of other entertainment such as bungee runs, drumming and didgeridoo workshops.

The results will be used – along with demos and auditions – to help choose the best possible line-up for the event (subject to band commitments and budget).

Cllr Mrs Hilary Ayer, Portfolio Holder for Youth and Community said: “This is a really innovative way for young people to help us pick the bands that will play in September. When the survey closes, we will have a wish list of bands that we’ll work towards getting for the event.”

The survey can be accessed via the Butserfest myspace page: myspace.com/butserfest and will be open until Friday 29 February.
