Garstang’s Millennium Green occupies around 3 hectares of land adjoining the River Wyre and within a few minutes walk of the centre of the town.  Over the past six years it has kept to the concept of being an unspoilt piece of English countryside where visitors can walk, run or just relax on the seats provided – and, at the same time, enjoy views across the river over the lovely Bowland Hills.  Management is positive whilst unobtrusive. Around 50,000 people annually visit this area including those with wheelchairs.  A wildflower area created in 2006 has proved a huge success.
