Information about this open space

Gorse Hall is a green open space for community use, managed by the Friends of Gorse Hall. It is a hill site of 35 acres, with the main entrance on High Street Stalybridge. At its highest point views over the Cheshire Plains and surrounding Pennines can be seen.  Remains of Old Gorse Hall documented in a will og 1621, a New Hall built in 1835/6 linked to Beatrix Potter, taken down 1910 after an infamous murder in 1909, are some of the features covered in undergrowth until the Friends of Gorse Hall’s Heritage Project.
