The Special Awards for Innovation were introduced this year to highlight those winners which have made changes to bring outstanding benefits to both their sites and their local communities. These sites are inspirational for their commitment to continuous improvement.
Innovation is classed as something which is new to that particular site (it must have been introduced in the last three years). It is not necessarily dependent upon a large financial investment; it must simply bring improvement to the community’s experience of the site.
Special Awards for Innovation can be given in any or all of the eight Green Flag Award Scheme criteria.
