01925 860 143In June 2006 we started a mobile shop in the village in which we are based. We deliver our own produce and plants from the walled garden together with other locally sourced produce including honey, free range eggs, preserves, apple juice, pies and baking. There are no shops where we stop off and the service has been well received particularly by the elderly who often have mobility issues. The project has now been expanded to another neighbouring village and will include the start up of a farmers market there.
This mobile shop has provided a very good outlet for both our own produce (which is fresh, seasonal and of course local) and for other local producers. Our adults with learning difficulties are fully involved in the process, from harvesting, to loading the van and serving customers. In so doing they are gaining valuable skills and integrating in a positive manner in the local community.
