Millennium Country Park

The Forest Centre & Millennium Country Park is the flagship site in the Forest of Marston Vale and a fantastic example of environmental regeneration. Old brick pits and arable farmland have been transformed into a diverse mix of woodland, grassland, lakes and wetland habitats for everyone to enjoy.
For walkers or cyclists, there is 8km of traffic free, surfaced cycle paths and footpaths. If you don’t have a bicycle then rent one from our cycle hire. Riders can enjoy a 4km designated horse trail. The playground and sensory wildlife garden will appeal to children of all ages.
Get yourself a ticket to explore the Wetlands Nature Reserve. In this quiet area you can spot birds from the hides, wildflowers in the meadows and much more. Follow the surfaced trail on a wildlife safari to find out facts and play environmental games.
The Forest Centre has a cafe, gift shop and thriving conference facilities to suit everyone. In the Lakeside Café you can relax and enjoy a coffee or glass of wine with delicious local food freshly prepared in our kitchen.

The Forest Centre & Millennium Country Park is owned and operated by the Forest of Marston Vale Trust, the small environmental charity dedicated to using trees and woodlands to transform this part of Bedfordshire to create the Forest of Marston Vale.

Join us on our search for dragonflies and other minibeasts in the Park and make your own dragonfly to take home! Wear long trousers, avoid open toed sandals and make sure you have suncream and a sun hat just in case!

Find out who's living in our Bog Pond before creating and playing your own Underwater Bingo (indoor crafts). All equipment will be provided and you don't need to wear waterproofs - you won't really be going underwater!

It’s time to get messy with mud in the Millennium Country Park! A walk to the willow huts to make mud creatures/ faces/ monsters/ animals/whatever you like, in the trees! Get creative – wear old clothes and be prepared to get muddy!

Join in our exciting launch day for the Symbol Spot Trail! Take part in a mini X Marks the spot workshop and then explore the Millennium Country Park with your very own compass, guided by Captain Alice of Mini Map Makers.

The guided part of the session lasts approx. 30 minutes, but you can continue on to do the whole trail and take as long as you like! Sessions are at 10am, 11am, 1pm and 2pm and cost £5 per child which includes your Symbol Spot Trail Pack. Booking and parental supervision essential.

A guided walk led by our team of expert Volunteers - looking out for the owls and bats, with some small mammal trapping on the Wetlands looking for wood mice and bank voles. We'll be keeping an ear out - who knows what we might find! Make sure you dress appropriately for the weather and wear waterproof shoes or boots - unfortunately no dogs are allowed. We can provide torches but if you have your own, bring it along!
