Leybourne Lakes Country Park

Situated in the heart of Kent, Leybourne Lakes Country Park offers 93 hectares of parkland encompassing a range of habitats including: six lakes; flower rich meadows; shallow wetlands; scrubby woodland and the Mill stream.

The Country Park offers something for everyone from a children's play area; to an activity programme for schools; wildlife activity events; Easter and summer activities; Water Sports Centre activities; bird and bat walks; angling; walking and cycling. Visitors can walk around the 2.5km Ocean Circular Walk, using the interpretive posts and leaflet to discover more about the parks animals.

The Park's Mill Stream is full of dragonflies and damselflies during the spring and summer months and the lakes are home to large numbers of migratory birds in the spring and autumn including rare species like the Nightingale. The parks habitat management is being developed to increase biodiversity with the creation of a new three acre Wildflower meadow. You can also see Water Voles along the banks of the internal ditch system.
