01623 463 735Carr Bank Park lies a short walk from the town centre in Mansfield. This historic park offers a mix of open grassland with mature trees, woodlands, gardens and rockeries with ornamental features from earlier periods including a Grotto and a Victorian Glasshouse. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy and make use of all the facilities: tennis courts, multi sports pitch, bowling green and children’s play area. All areas are accessible for all. The hotel, originally home to the owners of the estate, offers lunches, dinners and light refreshments. The park is centre of horticultural excellence. Our award winning floral display on show in the park this summer won the silver medal at this year’s RHS Tatton Park flower show. The design was inspired by the town’s Roman heritage. We help support a rolling programme of community events with the Friends of Carr Bank Park group and the park also has an education pack which is used local schools and community groups. Carr Bank Park was formally opened in 1924 ‘for the benefit, enjoyment, recreation and health giving of the people of Mansfield’ a statement that is still appropriate to this day.
