The award winning gardens has a reputation of floral excellence and is described as the ‘Jewel in the Crown’ of Sefton’s parks. Botanic Gardens is registered as a historic park and garden with English Heritage and possesses many historic landscape features and listed buildings. The site hosts a weekly programme of brass band concerts through the summer months to enhance the existing attractions of a fernery, museum, play area, lake and road train to name a few. The site is a popular excursion for visitors to the classic resort of Southport, as well as local people and residents from Merseyside and West Lancashire. With nearly a million visits a year, Botanic Gardens is the ideal day out.
