Harmondsworth Moor is a truly inspirational place that has been created through the reclamation of old landfill sites and gravel workings and located on the western threshold of Greater London. The whole area was developed during the 1990’s by British Airways as an integral part of their new Headquarters at Harmondsworth.The Moor forms by far the largest part of the site, being over 100 Hectares in area, and was designed to provide a valuable recreation resource for the local area and community.  Harmondsworth Moor Countryside Park and is an excellent example of what can be achieved with a reclamation project, and has been successful with a number of awards that support this success. The management of the Moor is especially geared towards promoting Biodiversity and the development of Environmental Education.  Although a wonderful natural experience in any season, the time to visit is during June and July when the meadows an rivers are in their full glory. and you can see views across to Windsor and Wembly!
