Features of the park include the River Lea, two lakes, woodland and plenty of open spaces, and attractions include a water sports centre, angling, rowing boats, the second largest reed bed in the district, a cafĂ© and restaurant, a children’s play area, nature trail, picnic areas, ample car parking, public toilets, and an information point. Stanborough Park is a place where people can come together to enjoy community life. The annual community event programme includes a walking festival, a fun fair and circus, a multi cultural festival, charity fun runs and many other smaller fund raising events organised by local clubs and organisations. For those interested in taking to the water the Stanborough Park water sport centre provides a comprehensive range of courses for all ages and abilities, as well as ‘wet and wild’ raft building parties for the young and the young at heart! However, Stanborough Park is also an ideal destination for those seeking solitude and peaceful recreation. The Reed Marsh Nature Trail provides visitors with an opportunity to experience nature and interact with the environment. A series of interpretive display panels further enhance the experience. A full range of informative leaflets is available form the park reception and staff are always happy to answer questions and provide further information. The park is open all year round to visitors.
