01457 872 598Brownhill Nature Garden and Countryside Centre offers a countryside experience in a compact and safe area of 0.9 hectares. The garden is accessible by all abilities via a ramped walkway with tactile path indicators and raised planters. Cottage and Butterfly gardens are planted with sensory and wildlife attracting flowers and herbs. A small woodland, meadow and pond with dipping platform provide wildlife habitats and an educational resource, with a gazebo and birdhide providing shelter. The garden is bordered by the River Tame, Diggle Brook and the Huddersfield Narrow Canal with access gained from Dobcross New Road. The Brownhill Countryside Centre offers information, environmental displays, local interest leaflets and souvenirs, with a ‘crawly Tunnel’ and art materials available for the younger visitors.
