01344 354107Pope’s Meadow is a green haven in a busy, bustling world. The park provides a place of tranquillity and offers a sense of history. Located on the edge of Bracknell Town and Binfield village, Pope’s Meadow provides a valuable countryside resource for the local community. The site has been managed by Bracknell Forest Borough Council since 1985. Designated as a Wildlife Heritage Site and originally part of Pope’s Manor grounds where the 18th Century poet Alexander Pope spent his formative years, the park has a rich cultural and landscape heritage. This is managed sensitively in keeping with historical features whilst encouraging a wide diversity of wildlife. The meadow, wood and pond guarantee stunning views and variety for the range of site users and wildlife alike. These are complemented by a well-used toddler’s play area, interpretation board, picnic tables, orienteering course and football pitch. An active events programme, walks, talks, volunteer conservation work and on-site Ranger presence help engage people from across the borough. Community involvement is central to the park and its management, ensuring a healthy, safe and secure green space for open-air leisure.
