The park forms part of a Millennium Lottery funded national demonstration project providing “Countryside Access for All” and now receives over 450,000 visits a year. All features in the park are fully accessible and include a visitor centre, sensory garden, fully accessible play area, sculptures, cafe cycle hire/shop, waymarked trails, electric buggies and wheelchairs, barbecue and picnic areas. Uniquely, the park has a purpose built fully accessible residential centre giving visiting groups of all abilities the opportunity to enjoy the countryside. Recent developments include a grey water reed bed system and fitness equipment. The park provides a variety of events and environmental education activities for schools and groups. The latest addition is the “Little Grey Men” sculpture trail.
