The Borough has been fortunate to win many accolades over the past few years within the “Britain in Bloom” awards which has lead us to enter and develop Green Flag Parks and Gardens within the Borough. Over the last two years we have submitted three Green Flag applications and have been successful in achieving three Green Flags one of which has been Bradwell Crematorium. We feel the standards demanded by the Green Flag process is demanding but essential when one considers the provision of quality parks and Green Spaces within the Borough.  The grounds and facilities at Bradwell Crematorium full fill an important roll to many members of the public.  This is both at the time of bereavement as well as during the following period of remembrance. It is our aim that the site is perceived as a beautiful and peaceful setting in which people can be laid to rest.  The development of the gardens of remembrance and the new memorial flower gardens, represent a huge achievement for the Council. They are not only well used by the public who visit, but also the amount of support through the sponsoring of benches, trees and shrub beds grows each year, and clearly shows peoples desire to have a long term link with the site.
