Evington House was built in 1836 and is now the Area Parks Office as well as a Community facility. A black Mulberry Tree, situated at the rear of the house in the Herb Garden was probably planted at the time the House was built. This tree is part of a fine collection of mature and unusual species that are located on the park. In the spring Rhododendrons and Azaleas in the woodland garden are a delight. Within this area a wooden ‘steps to nature’ statue intrigues inquisitive children. A recent addition of a chainsaw carving giving new life to a dead oak tree entitled ‘The Tree of life’ has been a popular attraction for parks users. There is a diverse range of landscape features, formal bedding, play area, sports facilities and the Park boasts wildlife areas and ponds teeming with life. No matter what season of year Evington Park has some wildlife or horticultural delight that ensure enjoyment for all visitors of any age.”
