01492874151The Great Orme Country Park is a spectacular coastal headland near Llandudno, on the North Wales coast. It covers an area of almost 300 hectares and the biodiversity of the headland is both nationally and internationally important for its heathland and limestone grassland. During the summer months the headland is ablaze with a huge variety of wildflowers, some of which are very rare, and is also home to unique butterflies. The cliffs teem with nesting seabirds and unusual migrating birds can be seen in the autumn and winter months. With over 400 sites of historical interest the heritage of the Great Orme is equally impressive. Visitors can experience a feeling of peace, tranquillity and wildness and take in the spectacular views along one of the way-marked walks or find out more about the Great Orme and the many things to do here at the Country Park Visitor Centre. Visited by over 600,000 people every year, many of whom arrive via the Victorian Tramway or cable car to the summit, there is plenty to see and do. A variety of cafes offer refreshment to weary walkers and you can even take a trip underground and explore the Bronze Age Copper mines. The Country Park arranges guided walks and events and introduces thousands of school children to the wonders of the Great Orme each year. You can be sure there is something for everyone on the Great Orme.
