Clipped yew hedges contrast with abundant herbaceous borders and a wildflower lawn, while Japanese-style planting reflects the former owner’s oriental travels. With woodland walks, a red deer herd, plenty of space to play or picnic and a bird garden, with over 200 species from all over the world, the estate provides a lovely family day out. The ‘Treasury of Trees’ planting project is into its third year replanting trees and shrubs inspired by the original Edwardian planting plans.
