Laid out in the early 20th century, Morgan Jones Park is dedicated to the well-known Conscientious Objector of the First War, Morgan Jones MP. Although modest in size ‘MJP’ offers the community a huge range of experiences. For the more active, tennis, bowls, cricket and soccer are available, whilst for the younger generation, Aqua Splash Pad the ‘wetter the better’ interactive water play facility in the middle of the park compliments the Multi Use Games Area and premier children’s play park. Based in the park, why not take the Urban Safari visiting the ASDA wildflower meadow, the grass maze and the wildlife ‘Dew Pond’ with its bird island and dipping platform. If you prefer more relaxing pastimes then ‘MJP’ has the answer with quiet contemplation offered by seating along the floral walk and during the summer the Bands in the Park programme providing the perfect way to while away warm afternoons.
