This very popular park is laid out around a circular carriageway and has a rolling, grade 2 listed, pastoral landscape enclosed by woodland. A seven year restoration programme totaling £3.6m was completed in 2005, mainly funded through the Heritage Lottery Fund. As part of the regeneration of the park two new buildings have been constructed, the ‘Centre in the Park’, a multi-purpose community building and a sports pavilion. Two playgrounds, an adventurous woodland and under 8’s area were created in 2000; most recently a multi-games area has been added.
