Information about this open space

A 400-acre natural green oasis set in the heart of North Tyneside. The Green Flag status country park boasts an organic farm, local nature reserve, countryside centre, numerous ponds, woodlands and extensive areas of grassland. As well as being a wildlife haven the country park is rich in heritage and provides people with a refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city. The park is managed by a partnership agreement between The RisingSun Farm Trust and North Tyneside Council. The country park is actively promoting healthy living, it provides a resource for healthy outdoor activities, healthy food and encourages sustainable practices.  The country park has a diverse environmental education programme and provides many opportunities for volunteers. It has an organic farm and restaurant providing employment and training to adults with learning difficulties and has an active Friends group
