Blackleach Country Park is just 1/2 mile north of Walkden town centre and has been transformed from its industrial past through the partnership of local people, Salford City Council and local business. Blackleach’s 30 hectares of countryside are set around an impressive reservoir. The area is ideal for walking, adventure play, picnics, fishing, orienteering, horse riding, feeding the ducks, school trips or just for a breather from city life. The Salford Ranger Team organise an exciting range of events and activities. You can come along and enjoy a health walk and chat, take part in practical conservation activities, join in on bat hunts or pond dips or take part in the art club. Winter or summer, come along to Blackleach and enjoy the countryside on your doorstep.
