Information about this open space

Falsgrave Park is a people’s park, popular and dearly loved by its local community. It is a green oasis in a residential area near the centre of Scarborough and provides something for everyone. Amongst its wide variety of features are a large children’s play area, graffiti wall, open grassland, wildflower meadows, woodland walks, stunning views across the town to the Castle and the sea, and even a stone circle. The Friends of Falsgrave Park help the Council manage the park, hold a range of events and activities throughout the year, and fundraise for improvement projects. Their events include everything from egg rolling to “Halloween Park in the Dark” and bulb planting to hay raking. Recent improvement projects they have carried out are the restoration of a historic Conduit House linked to the spring that supplied the drinking water to Scarborough from the 14th century, two wildlife interpretation panels and a tree sculpture in the play area. The park has something to see at all times of year, from the winter garden and spring daffodil displays to summer meadows and autumn tree colour. In snowy conditions it provides some of the best sledging in the area. Falsgrave Park is a park full of life and just waiting for you to visit.
