Friary Park is a well established suburban park, surrounding Friary House. It was given to the public in 1910, in the year of King Edwards VII’s death, A statue bearing a plaque commemorating the late King, stands near the main entrance on Friern Barnet Lane. The park provides opportunities for the whole local community; children can play in safe dog free areas, tennis, basketball and a skate park are available for users of all ages, while the bowls green proves popular with older users. There are natural areas within the park where people can have contact with nature, and also extensive traditional flower beds and shrubberies for relaxation and enjoyment. The cafe in Friary House is ideally located near the play area and is an ideal meeting place and focal point for the park.
