It sits in the centre of a local community surrounded by homes, schools and shops. Located eight miles from Manchester city centre, this five acre site is situated in one of Europe’s biggest housing estates, close to the M56 and M60 motorways. The park comprises of a variety of established habitats including native hedgerows, a mature tree stock and bulb areas. Working closely with the neighbouring primary school, pupils have planted a wildflower area and a new native hedgerow. These areas are used to educate and inspire the community and have initiated a sense of ownership and pride. The park offers play and sports facilities with a mixed age children’s play area, a multiuse games area and a mini ball court. The park also contains a quiet area, centred around an ornamental bed and edged by an avenue of cherry trees.
