Eastleigh Cemetery is located close to the Town Centre and is a much valued local facility, both in terms of its amenity value and as a place of remembrance. The cemetery dates back to the Victorian era and covers 4.44 hectares containing over 5,000 graves as well as a Garden of Remembrance. It successfully strikes a balance between the operational requirements of an open cemetery with the maintenance standards of a more formal park, with a relaxing ambience in which people can stroll or sit in contemplation.  Attention is given in the horticultural design to encourage local wildlife diversity through the planting of shrub and perennial plant species, alongside which formal planted areas are a throwback to the concept of the Victorian Park.
