Spa Gardens is a beautiful park right in the heart of Ripon with something for everyone. As well as proudly flying the Green Flag for the sixth year running, the Gardens also boast Ripon’s war memorial, which has taken the Best War memorial in the “town class” several times in the Yorkshire In Bloom awards and a splendid Victorian bandstand where band concerts take place on Sunday afternoons throughout the summer. For birdwatchers, carefully sited nesting boxes have encouraged many varieties to make a home in the Gardens alongside outdoor games and the Sun Parlour Café serving home cooked food and tasty cakes.  Green Men have been installed as a fun trail for younger children. Yorkshire in Bloom voted Ripon Spa Gardens joint best park with Roundhay Park, Leeds.  The judges said ‘The floral displays were outstanding in the Spa Gardens.’
