0151 2336911Belle Vale Park is located at the heart of a densely populated community in the outer suburbs of Liverpool. One of the city’s smaller modern landscapes, the only public open space in this outer suburb, providing a valuable setting for a range of recreational and cultural facilities for local residents. This highly accessible 21st century park is situated at the heart of the District Centre which it serves. Areas of grassland with stands of mature trees, a children’s play area, multi use game court and informal football and tennis provision, are surrounded by the local shopping centre, supermarket, fast food outlet, and the Millennium centre. The centre houses many community facilities including a library, sports club, Youth Angling Project, community and internet cafĂ©, community meeting and training rooms, and a laundrette. The centre is in use seven days a week including many evenings. To the front and facing onto the park is a plaza which links the park and the centre together and is being developed as a focal point where people can meet and events take place. To develop the educational and recreational links between the community and the park, Rangers, Grounds Maintenance and Parks teams are working on projects with the community to enhance and promote Belle Vale Park with the addition of horticultural features, an ecological wetland area, and, the development of a woodland understory.
