Welland Park

Information about this open space

Welland Park is an urban park with a rural feel located close to the centre of the historical market town of Market Harborough and is the flagship park for the District. The park is easily accessible via the Millennium Mile that runs through the park and along the River Welland as part of National Cycleway No. 6.  Opened in 1935 the park provides facilities for all to enjoy including formal rose garden (with the bell tower from the old Symington Factory makers of hosiery and textiles), riverside walk, cafe, skate park, play facilities, conservation area (with interpretation boards), dog walk, sporting facilities and a wide variety of established trees.  The annual bedding displays form part of Harborough in Bloom and have helped towards success in East Midlands and Britain in Bloom. The Harborough Band performs concerts during the summer months and regular activities and events take place for the community and visitors to enjoy. A great place to visit for all ages combining the best of a traditional park with up to date facilities.
