St Ives Estate is often said to be the ‘hidden jewel’ in the crown of Bradford’s parks and woodlands.  St Ives is an estate of approximately 202 hectares in size with a rich archaeological history, a diverse landscape supporting an array of flora and fauna.  The estate has been a popular venue for walkers from the surrounding villages and for visitors of the excellent golf course, equestrian centre, fishing lake, archery club and children’s play area.  The Friends of St Ives established in 2003 work in partnership with the Council to improve and enhance the estate and also organise various events, walks and educational talks.  The “Friends of” group has just recently been successful in bidding for a grant of £250,000 from WREN for various improvements and projects which will be implemented over the next 2 years.
