Information about this open space

Denton Cemetery is situated in a lovely woodland corner of Denton close to the River Tame.  The cemetery opened in 1895 and since then there have been over 14,500 interments within the cemetery.  In addition to the traditional graves, there are also Gardens of Remembrance which allow for the strewing of Cremated remains. Memorial options are available for families within these areas. In addition to being a place of reverence and respect, the cemetery also boasts some beautiful well kept gardens and has a wide variety of established trees. We are committed to contributing to ensure Tameside Borough is cleaner and greener for all it’s residents.
