Information about this open space

Brockhill Country Park is owned and managed by Kent County Council. It is 54 acres of captivating countryside open to the public since 1986. An open valley, tree lined lake and intimate parkland areas can all be visited.  The park is on the Saxon Shoreway over looking the English Channel, a mile north of the Cinque Port of Hythe. The site is part of the North Downs AONB. Brockhill is a site of Nature Conservation Interest, springs and streams have shaped this area forming gorges and valleys, strewn with mossy boulders and fern filled woodland.  There are stories of ghosts, not least because the last lord of Brockhill is buried on an island. There are relics of his wilderness garden, waterfalls, a ladies boating lake and exotic plants can still be found. Ancient trees here stand testament to centuries of planting and management. Gnarly Oak, giant Beech and twisted Walnut can all be discovered.  150,000 people visit every year. Families, walkers, educational groups and more can enjoy the park every day of the year except Christmas Day from 9.00am to dusk. The cafe serves fine food all year ( open November to end of March 10.30am to 4.00pm and April to end of October 10.30am to 5.30pm.) A countryside team of staff and volunteers provide care and consideration for visitors and site. An adventure playground and giant slide, information centre, toilets and trails compliment the visitor experience. Car charges apply £1 per car. Annual permits are available. Disabled badge holders are free.
